The Pilgrimage: 50 Places to Surf Before You Die

Author(s): Sean Doherty (Editor)

Sport

Surfing is an obsession, and many a surfer has thrown away life-as-he-once-knew-it for a single wave.

In The Pilgrimage some of the world's top surf writers pay tribute to 50 of the world's best waves – the breaks which have become so much part of surfing folklore that they've developed a life force of their own.

This book is sure to become a classic. The text creates a great sense of place, and there's practical information on getting to (nearly) every break, the best time to go, what to take, where to stay, and what to look out for.

The Pilgrimage is the perfect read for anyone who has ever caught, or tried to catch, a wave, from grommets to geriatrics.

    Product Information

Sean Doherty is a native of Forster on the New South Wales mid-north coast, but these days calls the rifling walls of Dee Why home. He began his career with surf journalism in 1997 with "Tracks" magazine, became editor in 2000, and still is today - the longest-serving (and -suffering) editor of the iconic Australian surf magazine. His biography on surf legend Michael Peterson was published in 2004. Sean has written for the "Sydney Morning Herald, Surfer" and "Surfing" magazines in the US, as well as surfing magazines in other parts of the world. He is also, of course, a great bloke and a red-hot surfer.
