She won the CARNEGIE MEDAL and many other awards, and was nominated for the HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN AWARD. Margaret died in July 2012. Tony Ross is one of Britain's best-known illustrators, with nearly 50 picture books to his name which have sold more than half a million copies. He has also produced line drawings for many fiction titles. He lives in Wales.
